FDA Deletes Autism Therapy Warning Page

The Food and Drug Administration removed a public webpage warning parents about unproven and potentially dangerous autism treatments. The page, which detailed specific scams, was quietly deleted late last year under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose anti-vaccine activism and ties to the wellness industry are well-documented.

For years, the FDA specifically cautioned against sham therapies like chelation and hyperbaric oxygen treatment. These procedures are legitimate for certain medical conditions but have been co-opted by wellness advocates who falsely claim they can cure autism by removing metals or increasing oxygen, posing serious health risks to patients.

Kennedy has hired David Geier, an activist disciplined for practicing medicine without a license, to study the debunked link between vaccines and autism. Geier and his father previously faced sanctions for using dangerous chelation therapies on autistic children, a practice the now-deleted FDA page explicitly warned against.
