Vision Power Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd. (VSMC), a joint venture between Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation and NXP Semiconductors N. V., has officially opened its first 12-inch (300 mm) fab in Tampines, Singapore. The ceremony was attended by key figures including Dr. Tan See Leng, Mr. Png Cheong Boon, and Ms. Jacqueline Poh.

The facility is now in risk production, with volume production expected in Q1 2027. The fab supports technologies from 130 nm to 40 nm for mixed-signal, power management, and analog applications. It features a fully automated smart manufacturing model with AI integration.

At full capacity by 2029, it will produce around 44,000 wafers monthly and create 1,600 jobs. VSMC and VIS Chairman Leuh Fang emphasized the milestone's significance for global supply chain resilience. NXP CEO Rafael Sotomayor highlighted the fab's role in enhancing manufacturing base and geographic resilience. Ms. Cindy Koh of EDB noted the fab's contribution to Singapore's semiconductor ecosystem and workforce development.
