AMD's next-generation RDNA 5 GPU IP has appeared in working silicon, but not in a desktop part. SemiAnalysis's die annotation of Samsung's Exynos 2700 SoC reveals the Xclipse 970 GPU, co-developed by AMD and Samsung, featuring RDNA 5 architecture. Built on Samsung Foundry's SF2 2 nm node, this mobile chip also includes a unique 10-core CPU configuration using Arm cores: one C2-Ultra at 4.24 GHz, another at 3.36 GHz, and four C2-Pro cores at 3.74 GHz and four at 2.88 GHz.

The GPU packs eight workgroup processors, totaling 16 compute units. The Exynos 2700 connects via 24-bit LPDDR6 for ample bandwidth. This marks a significant launch for both Samsung and AMD, as it's the first RDNA 5 chip and offers a glimpse into future desktop performance.

Benchmarks are eagerly awaited.
