Two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka faces Jessica Pegula in the women's semi-finals, aiming for a third straight US Open title. Elena Rybakina takes on home favourite Coco Gauff in the other last-four clash. For the first time since Wimbledon 2009, all four top seeds reached the semi-finals at a Grand Slam.

Sabalenka, a six-time semi-finalist here, holds a 9-4 head-to-head edge over Pegula but conceded the American has won two of their last three meetings, including a 6-0 final set at the Berlin Open earlier this year. Sabalenka recently surrendered the world No 1 ranking to Rybakina, who becomes the first Kazakhstani player to top the WTA rankings following her quarter-final win over Qinwen Zheng. Rybakina will face Gauff, who produced a stunning comeback victory to reach the semis.
