Erling Haaland became the latest player to reach 300 career club goals, scoring the decisive header as Manchester City defeated Coventry 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium to maintain their perfect start under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Haaland's 26th-minute strike marked his third goal in two games this season. The 26-year-old Norway striker reached the milestone in 384 appearances, faster than both Kylian Mbappé (398) and Cristiano Ronaldo (499), though slightly behind Lionel Messi (365).

Manchester City have spent over £450 million ($609m) revamping their squad following Pep Guardiola's departure. Recent signings including Enzo Fernández, Iliman Ndiaye, and Elliot Anderson all started against Coventry, with Haaland praising their Premier League experience.

City remain top of the Premier League, three points clear of defending champions Arsenal. Maresca's side face another test against Chelsea on Sunday.
