Two days before their season opener at Carolina, the Chicago Bears solidified their backfield. Running back D'Andre Swift reached a three-year, $33.75 million extension with $27.5 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. He is under contract through 2029.

This is Swift's second contract with Chicago. He signed a three-year, $24 million deal in 2024 and was set to enter a contract year in 2026. Swift, 27, had his best season in 2025, leading Chicago with 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns, plus 34 catches for 299 yards and a score.

"I think he's done a great job. I love his approach," GM Ryan Poles said. Swift has started 34 of 35 games over two seasons. He and Kyle Monangai built the Bears into the league's No. 3 rushing offense (144.5 yards per game).

Swift is the latest running back to cash in after seven others signed new deals, including Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Taylor.
