Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell left his start against the Cincinnati Reds after one inning due to left groin tightness. Snell, who began the season on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation, had surgery in May to remove loose bodies and bone spurs from his left elbow. He gave up a single to Sal Stewart and recorded one strikeout in the first inning before departing.

Snell threw 19 pitches, 10 for strikes. The Dodgers lost 6-2 to the Reds but could still clinch the National League West later if San Diego lost at Colorado. Los Angeles already has clinched a 14th consecutive postseason berth.
