Spring Training Pitching Updates
Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani made his highly anticipated spring mound debut, delivering 4⅓ scoreless innings where he registered four strikeouts and touched 99 mph, allowing just one hit and two walks in the outing. Elsewhere in the National League, Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Kyle Harrison was forced to exit his start prematurely due to a developing blister on his pitching hand, raising minor concerns for his preparation for a rotation spot.
American League Roster Decisions
The Boston Red Sox finalized a key infield decision, slotting Caleb Durbin in as the starting third baseman for Opening Day after acquiring him from the Brewers just prior to camp starting, while infielder Tommy Mayer is now likely pegged for the second base role. These personnel moves signal firming depth charts across the league as clubs approach the final exhibition games.
