Revolut is preparing to launch a facial recognition payment system in the UK, allowing customers to pay in shops and hospitality venues by looking at a checkout terminal. The feature, called "Facial Payments", is expected to roll out first in London, with a pilot involving a small number of users. Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky highlighted the convenience and security of the new method.

The company aims to compete with Apple Pay and other contactless options. Early tests show strong user interest, and Revolut plans to expand the feature gradually. The system uses advanced encryption to protect user data.

Revolut's move comes as biometric payments gain traction globally. The company has already tested similar technology in other markets. Storonsky described the launch as a key step in Revolut's evolution.

The feature will initially be available to selected users in the UK.
