CVC has agreed to acquire a minority stake in CDN77, the engineering-led internet infrastructure company founded by Zdeněk Cendra in 2011. The investment, made through CVC's long-duration Strategic Opportunities platform, backs a founder-run business at the intersection of content delivery and fast-growing demand for AI-ready compute. Cendra retains a majority stake and continues as chief executive, while the senior team stays in place.

CDN77 builds and runs its own network, hardware platforms, and software stack, operating a global edge network spanning more than 230 locations and 330 terabits per second of capacity. Content delivery remains the core, but the next phase includes adding scale and broadening services such as storage, edge compute, and dedicated CPU and GPU infrastructure for bandwidth-heavy applications and AI workloads.

Jakub Canda of CVC praised the company's unique culture and people, stating the firm's task is to let the team focus on customers while building faster and going further. Cendra said the partnership with CVC provides a sparring partner that respects what has been built and opens doors the company could not open itself. Financial terms were not disclosed, and completion is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
