Bridgepoint has agreed to become the majority shareholder of Altano Group, the world's largest equine clinic network. Existing investor Ufenau Capital Partners will exit its investment. Altano founder Victor Baltus will transition to president while staying invested, and former Diaverum COO Boris Zjacic joins as group CEO.

Altano, headquartered in Dülmen, Germany, operates 110 equine clinics and ambulatory practices with nearly 1,000 veterinarians across Europe, North America and Oceania. The company provides specialist referrals, advanced imaging, surgery, sports medicine and breeding services. Bridgepoint and Altano plan to invest in clinical excellence and extend international reach.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Bridgepoint was advised by JP Morgan and Rothschild & Co (M&A), Bain & Company (commercial), KPMG and EY (financial and tax) and Kirkland & Ellis (legal).
