Alpine Investors, a San Francisco-based firm, has launched Eight Group Service Partners, its first platform investment in the UK hard facilities management market. Jack Armstrong, principal at Alpine, stated the UK market shares similarities with the US, featuring a large and highly fragmented landscape with mission-critical, recurring services. The launch consolidates MV Lifts, Enertech, KCE FM, DPP, Irwin M&E, and four other businesses into a single platform.

This combined group repairs, maintains, and installs HVAC, electrical, mechanical, lift, and fire safety systems for commercial buildings. Alpine emphasized talent development as a key pillar due to a shortage of skilled technical workers. Drawing on experience building Orion Services Group in the US, the firm aims to scale Eight Group using proven strategies.

The UK hard facilities market is estimated at roughly £24 billion ($32 billion; €28 billion), growing over 5 percent annually due to increasing safety and environmental regulations and an aging building stock. Alpine targets businesses with £8 million or more in revenue and £1 million or more in EBITDA within core mechanical and electrical services. The firm's ambition is to build a leading technical services group that blends the entrepreneurship of local businesses with the technology and resources of a larger organization.

Alpine remains disciplined in seeking opportunities where it has a genuine right to win in the UK market.
