A series of screenshots shared with MacRumors purportedly show Verizon's AI chat assistant detailing iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max specs hours before Apple's announcement event. Shared privately by X user mehrtosh, the conversation timestamps September 8, the day before Apple's "Surprise and shine" event. The assistant claimed the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a variable aperture main camera lens adjustable between f/1.4 and f/4.0, an advanced Sensor-shift OIS, and a larger 48MP telephoto camera with up to 10x optical zoom.

It also specified 16GB of RAM for the Pro Max versus 12GB for the iPhone 18 Pro. Pricing was listed at $1,099.99 for the Pro and $1,199.99 for the Pro Max. The assistant detailed display sizes of 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max, triple-lens camera systems, 48MP ultra wide cameras, and support for ProRAW and ProRes video recording powered by the A20 Pro chip.

However, several claims were disputed. The pricing matches the iPhone 17 Pro's current prices, contradicting expectations of price increases. The color names "Titanium Gray," "Titanium White," and "Titanium Black" differ from recent leaks suggesting Dark Cherry, Silver, and Sky Blue.

Given that AI chatbots are known to hallucinate plausible but false information and the inability to independently verify the exchange, these claims should be treated with skepticism rather than as a legitimate leak.
