iOS 27 Siri AI Waitlist: How to Sign Up

Apple released iOS 27 this week after three months of beta testing. Users who installed the update may notice the new Siri AI and dedicated Siri app are not immediately available; access requires joining a waitlist. While iOS 27 runs on iPhone 11 and newer models, Siri AI is limited to iPhone 15 Pro and later devices compatible with Apple Intelligence.

To join the waitlist, open the Settings app, tap the Siri menu, select Try Siri AI (Beta), and follow the prompts. Wait times range from minutes to days. Once granted, a notification appears and the Siri app installs automatically. Interaction methods include swiping down on the Dynamic Island, holding the side button, or opening the app.

Siri AI functions as a ChatGPT-like assistant with on-screen awareness and access to personal data for advanced tasks. It launches in English only, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish arriving in October via iOS 27.1. Apple notes unspecified daily usage limits and expanded access for select iCloud+ plans. Siri AI is unavailable in the EU on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27 due to regulatory disputes with the European Commission. Apple still labels Siri AI as beta despite the public iOS 27 release.
