Today's iOS 27 update addresses over 100 security vulnerabilities, a good reason to install it. If you don't want iOS 27 yet, Apple also released iOS 26.7 with over 80 security fixes. 75 of the fixes are shared, so iOS 26.7 addresses many of the same issues.

There are multiple kernel fixes, including one that could allow a malicious app to gain root access and another that could allow Bluetooth remote code execution. A full list is on Apple's site for both iOS 27 and iOS 26.7.

None of the flaws are known to have been actively exploited, but now that details are published, unupdated devices could be vulnerable. Apple has fielded increasing vulnerability discoveries as AI models improve. Three fixes are attributed to Anthropic's Claude, and OpenAI Codex Security is mentioned in Apple's additional recognition section.
