Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipsets, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, are official. Built on a 2nm process, they pair 64-bit Oryon CPUs with new Adreno GPUs and Hexagon NPUs.

Both platforms include two Prime cores at up to 5.0GHz and six Performance cores at up to 4.0GHz. They also feature 16MB of Oryon Flex Cache, support up to 24GB of LPDDR5X/6 RAM at up to 5,300MHz, and UFS 5.0 storage.

Compared with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Extreme model improves CPU performance by 13%, CPU power efficiency by 37%, GPU performance by 44%, and NPU performance by 35%. It also delivers 33% better AI performance per watt and 50 percent larger shared memory for the Hexagon NPU.

The standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 offers 10% better CPU performance, 37% better CPU power efficiency, 35% higher GPU performance, 14% improved NPU performance, and 20% better AI performance per watt. Video support reaches 8K at 60fps and 4K at 240fps on the Extreme model, and 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps on the standard model. Xiaomi, Motorola, and One Plus have confirmed upcoming devices.
