Developed by the Multimedia Development Group at Samsung MX, the feature analyzes multiple people simultaneously, letting users switch subjects instantly after initial processing. Sunghwan Kim explained they focused on reducing wait times during editing. The app supports 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1 aspect ratios for social sharing.

Sherry Hong noted the team tested extensively using diverse footage, including college dance clubs and climbing videos. A key challenge was running AI workloads entirely on-device without cloud servers. Samsung Research optimized the model for lower computation, while MX Business streamlined video decoding and data transfer to manage heat and power use.

For best results, the team recommends shooting in high resolution, framing slightly wider, selecting subjects when unobstructed and facing the camera, and using a tripod for stability. My FanCam also works with older videos from the gallery.
