A rumor from late August claimed Samsung would equip the Galaxy S27 Ultra with a new telephoto camera featuring 4x optical zoom and a 1/1.9" type sensor. Another source denied this, saying it would keep the same 5x optical zoom telephoto as its predecessor.

According to Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will use a 50MP 5x optical zoom telephoto camera with a Sony sensor, implying it's the same camera seen in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Quandt also notes the ultrawide camera will have 50MP resolution, matching the S26 Ultra.

The upcoming flagship will feature a 16MP selfie camera with autofocus, a change from the S26 Ultra's 12MP selfie snapper. The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to feature the recently unveiled M16 OLED panel and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset in some markets, though rumors suggest the Exynos 2700 may be offered in others.
