Graphics card driver updates are important for optimal performance but finding them can be confusing. Software updates primarily fix issues, and GPUs often require updates for new game releases. You can update drivers through Windows Update by going to Settings > Windows Update and clicking Check for updates, or via Device Manager by expanding Display adapters and selecting Update Driver. However, Windows Update may not always provide the latest versions directly from the manufacturer.

For the most current drivers, use your GPU's companion software. AMD users should install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, NVIDIA users need the NVIDIA App, and Intel users require Intel Graphics Software. Launch the appropriate app and navigate to the driver section—NVIDIA App has a Drivers tab, AMD users click the settings cog and Manage Updates, and Intel software shows pending updates prominently.

Manual installation is also possible by searching for your exact GPU model name followed by 'drivers' on Google, then downloading directly from the manufacturer's official website. During installation, display flickering is normal, and while not always required, restarting your computer is recommended.
