The New York Times wants to know how a GLP-1 medication may have affected how readers plan vacations. Sept. 24, 2026, 5:02 a.m. ET

The indulgence in food for its own sake has long been a driver for getting away. Maybe you plan an annual trip to Italy specifically to experience certain dishes, or you head straight for the nearest hawker market after disembarking in Singapore. But if you’re on a GLP-1 medication, which typically results in a reduced appetite and often significant weight loss, your strategy may have changed.

Though the drug is approved to treat just a few conditions like diabetes and obesity, its broad appeal has also led to its growing use among people who seem to have no medical need of it. And the drug has reignited conversations around diet culture and the pleasure of eating.

So we want to know: Has taking a GLP-1 had an impact on the way you travel — either when you’re on a trip or as you’re planning one? Are you considering alternate destinations, or a trip that’s oriented less around food or oriented around something else entirely? Maybe you’re thinking about your meals differently or have found that you now feel freed from guilt and enjoy the occasional indulgence more. Or, if a friend, family member or loved one is on the drug, has it become a point of contention or newfound connection as you try to plan your next vacation? We will read all submissions.
