Kolb acknowledged he "reacted inappropriately," saying he should have let security handle it. The video drew widespread online criticism, with calls for action against Kolb. The incident follows other fashion industry controversies, including the Met's postponement of a John Galliano exhibit.

The CFDA had previously stated it would "no longer promote animal fur" at official NYFW events. PETA was protesting sheep's wool use. The organization said it is committed to working with dissenting voices.
