Billy Bush, whose television career derailed a decade ago by the "Access Hollywood" tape, is joining Fox News as a contributor. The 2005 recording, released in the final weeks of the 2016 presidential election, captured Donald J. Trump bantering with Bush about sexual assault. Trump won despite the fallout, but Bush lost his job as an anchor of NBC's "Today" show.

Bush, 54, a nephew of former President George H.W. Bush and cousin of former President George W. Bush, apologized at the time, saying he was "embarrassed and ashamed." In a Tuesday statement through Fox News Media, he said he was excited to share "my perspective on the people, ideas and moments shaping today's culture … as well as the ones trying to undo it!"

He will debut at 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday on "Jesse Watters Primetime" and appear across all Fox platforms. After the scandal, Bush spent five years hosting "Extra" and started a podcast, "Hot Mics With Billy Bush."
