Dillard’s Inc., a $10 billion retailer, will shift its primary securities listing to the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) from the New York Stock Exchange, becoming the first retailer to join the startup marketplace. The Little Rock, Arkansas‑based chain cited alignment of its Texas retail roots with TXSE’s technology‑driven platform, with trading set to begin Oct. 5. The move supports TXSE’s goal of attracting southeastern U.S. listings; recent joiners include Energy Transfer LP and Texas Capital Bancshares Inc., whose executives have ties to TXSE.

Founded by James Lee, TXSE has raised over $300 million from investors such as JPMorgan Chase & Co., BlackRock Inc. and Citadel Securities, and faces competition from Nasdaq and NYSE. Dillard’s shifted its incorporation to Texas last year, following companies like Elon Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX. Texas has established new business courts to ease legal burdens.

The retailer’s stock has surged tenfold since late 2020, far outpacing the S&P 500, with about 270 stores nationwide and a strong presence in Texas, Florida, Louisiana and Arizona.
