The ICC has unveiled a record £6.5million prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, representing a 10% increase from the previous edition. Winners will pocket $2.34m (£1.74m) while runners-up collect $1.17m (£871,024), with the tournament set to take place across England and Wales this summer.

The financial boost extends throughout the competition, with all 12 participating teams now guaranteed a minimum of $247,500 (£184,245) — more than double the assured amount in 2024. The total prize pool grew from $7.958m to $8.765m as the event expands to 12 teams, up from 10 in the previous edition. Losing semi-finalists will earn $675,000 each.

England kick off the 33-match tournament against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in exactly 60 days. The host nation has not won the T20 World Cup since its inaugural edition in 2009, also held in England. ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the record prize pool and expanded format "underline our commitment to building a stronger, more competitive global game."
