The Howden British & Irish Lions have confirmed their historic inaugural Women's Series in New Zealand for September 2027. The five-match tour will feature a three-Test series against the Black Ferns, with matches scheduled in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Two additional games will be played in Whangārei and Hamilton against invitational sides, marking a groundbreaking moment for women's rugby.

This tour follows the initial 2024 announcement and is strategically timed within the women's global competition window, preceding the men's Rugby World Cup. British & Irish Lions CEO Ben Calveley called the schedule a "hugely significant milestone," while New Zealand Rugby's acting CEO Steve Lancaster emphasized creating a special experience for players and fans nationwide.

Kick-off times and a historic pre-tour fixture involving the Lions will be announced later in 2026. With over 120,000 fans expected, the tour aims to engage the entire country, starting in the north and concluding in the south. The series represents a major investment in the women's game, providing a new platform for elite international competition.
