Warrington Wolves returned to the top of the Super League table with a commanding 42-6 victory over Leigh Leopards at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. The Wolves built a 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back, scoring eight tries to one in a comprehensive display against their struggling opponents.

Warrington's dominance was evident from the opening minutes, with Josh Smith crossing in the second minute and Matty Ashton adding a spectacular 70-metre interception try shortly after. James Bentley and Joe Philbin also touched down before halftime, with Marc Sneyd converting all four attempts. The second half saw further tries from Ashton, George Williams, and Sam Powell, while Sneyd added three more conversions and a penalty.

Leigh's sole score came from Adam Cook in the 64th minute, who also converted his own try. The Leopards, decimated by injuries to at least seven first-choice players including Edwin Ipape and Umyla Hanley, remain rooted to the bottom of the table. Warrington head coach Sam Burgess praised his team's professionalism despite acknowledging Leigh's injury crisis, while Leigh coach Adrian Lam admitted his side's basic principles were letting them down.

With Leeds Rhinos now second on points difference, Warrington's position at the summit is secure for now. However, Burgess remained cautious about the significance, stating that being top means nothing at this stage of the season.
