Fabio Wardley has activated a rematch clause following his WBO heavyweight title defeat to Daniel Dubois. The Ipswich boxer floored Dubois twice early in their Manchester bout before suffering an 11th-round stoppage loss. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed Wardley has enforced the contractual right to an immediate return bout with Dubois.

Warren described their fight as the "best heavyweight fight" he has ever put on. Wardley remains motivated despite the setback, telling Sky Sports, "The boxing world knows my character, and Saturday night proved that without a shred of doubt. I made some mistakes that I will rectify in the rematch."

All parties now work toward arranging the rematch for later in 2026. Wardley, recovering from facial injuries but not requiring hospital treatment, vows to deliver another epic battle with his British rival. The rematch promises to be another "fight of the year contender" as Wardley seeks to reclaim the championship.
