Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur has identified the critical areas the Italian team must address during the second half of the 2026 Formula 1 season to keep Lewis Hamilton in the title fight. Currently sitting 50 points behind Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, Hamilton remains a strong contender for a record eighth drivers' title despite the performance edge held by Mercedes.

Vasseur noted that while Ferrari's chassis is highly competitive, the team must focus on improving the engine side. He specifically highlighted that the inertia on the engine is much higher than on the chassis. While rivals like McLaren have suggested Ferrari's power unit is their limiting factor, Vasseur insists the team must maintain its development momentum.

Ferrari also remains in the hunt for the constructors' title, with Mercedes holding only a 72-point lead. Vasseur emphasized that the team must continue bringing upgrades to the chassis every race to counter the rapid development seen from competitors like McLaren as the season heads toward its conclusion.
