Usain Bolt is registered to play for a Sunday league team in Manchester, with the Olympic champion set to make another foray into football. The former sprint star, who still holds the world records for the 100m and 200m, has appeared on the squad list for Wythenshawe FC Veterans over-35s on the Football Association Full-Time website. The team compete in the Cheshire Veterans League alongside former top-level professionals.

Managed by former Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland, the lineup features notable players including Danny Drinkwater, Antonio Valencia, Joleon Lescott, Emile Heskey, Marc Albrighton and Papiss Cisse. Bolt, 40, is a major football fan who harboured an ambition to build a professional career in the sport since retiring following the World Championships in 2017.

His athletic career saw him win eight gold medals across three Olympics, skyrocketing to global fame. The Jamaican briefly played for Australian side Central Coast Mariners, trained with German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund, and remains a regular participant in Soccer Aid charity matches. Wythenshawe have yet to officially confirm his registration.
