Leeds Rhinos duo Jake Connor and Ash Handley are now joint-top of the Steve Prescott Man of Steel rankings, covering Super League rounds 10 to 18. This marks a significant return for both players, as they were not included in the previous shortlist. Lachie Miller, who led after the first nine rounds, is now third, with Wigan Warriors' Brad O'Neill in fourth and Leigh's Umyla Hanley completing the top five.

The rankings are determined by a panel of five former Man of Steel winners, including Sam Tomkins. Tomkins praised Connor and Handley, stating they "fully deserve" their top spot and that Handley is in the "best form of his career." He highlighted Connor's outstanding kicking, try assists, and overall influence on the Leeds side.

Other players receiving votes but missing the top five included Mikey Lewis and Olly Ashall-Bott. The panel will reconvene after Round 27 to finalize a three-man shortlist, with the winner announced at the Rugby League Awards Night on Tuesday 29 September.
