Sky Sports and Audi have partnered to create the Flying Lap series, blending real-world driving with Audi’s R26 simulation technology for an immersive F1 storytelling experience. The collaboration integrates Audi Sim data with Sky Sports’ production expertise, offering fans unprecedented access to the technical and physical challenges of race tracks.

Fronted by Sky Sports pundit and former F1 driver Karun Chandhok, each episode features him driving an Audi RS5 on iconic circuits. Using Audi’s R26 simulation, the series transitions between real track action and virtual environments, breaking down performance metrics like braking zones, racing lines, and gear changes. Dynamic camera angles—from exterior views to cockpit perspectives—enhance the educational value, merging physical and digital storytelling seamlessly.

The inaugural episode focuses on the Miami Grand Prix, a circuit known for its speed and technical demands. By combining Audi’s simulation data with on-track footage, the series aims to redefine how audiences engage with motorsport narratives beyond live broadcasts. This marks a milestone in the Sky Sports and Audi Innovation partnership, pushing boundaries in broadcast technology.

Flying Lap launches on Sky Sports platforms from May 2, coinciding with the Miami GP. For fans, it offers a unique blend of adrenaline and analysis, leveraging Audi’s R26 tech to demystify elite racing performance.
