Red Bull Salzburg has turned its sights to Rangers boss Danny Röhl after less than a year at Ibrox. The Austrian champions, fresh from dismissing Daniel Beichler, are courting the 37‑year‑old, who signed a deal to stay until summer 2028. No direct contact with the Rangers yet.

Röhl joined Rangers in October 2025, lifting the club from sixth into a title chase before slipping late last season. Chairman Andrew Cavenagh pledged backing to overhaul the squad and pursue league glory next campaign. Röhl himself said he hopes to learn from his first seven months.

The coach’s résumé includes stints at RB Leipzig, Southampton and Bayern Munich, where he helped secure a Bundesliga title. In October 2023 he guided Sheffield Wednesday to Championship safety, lifting a side that had earned only two points from its first ten games to a 12th‑place finish.

Salzburg’s interest signals a high‑profile move for a young manager who has already tasted top‑flight success. If the deal materialises, it would mark a rapid ascent for Röhl and reshape the Austrian club’s ambitions. Rangers would lose a coach who could soon become a sought‑after name in European coaching circles.
