Krzysztof Ratajski defeated Jermaine Wattimena 8-6 to win the European Darts Open in Leverkusen on Sunday, July 12. Ratajski built an early 4-1 lead, saw Wattimena win five consecutive legs, and then recovered from 6-4 down to secure his first title of 2026 and third European Tour victory.

Ratajski entered the final after beating Nathan Aspinall 6-4 in the quarter‑finals and Sebastian Bialecki 7-5 in the semi‑finals. Wattimena reached his first European Tour final by defeating Luke Woodhouse 6-5 in the quarters and Damon Heta 7-3 in the semis.

The win kept Ratajski unbeaten in Pro Tour finals and moved him to world No 20 ahead of the Betfred World Matchplay, scheduled for July 18‑26 at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens. Wattimena described the day as “magic” and praised Ratajski’s performance.

The tournament’s earlier rounds featured notable results such as Michael van Gerwen’s 6-4 loss to Damon Heta and James Wade’s 6-2 defeat by Sebastian Bialecki.
