Rangers' Scottish Premiership title hopes suffered a major setback after a devastating 3-2 defeat to Motherwell at Ibrox. Danny Röhl's side arrived needing victory in their first post-split fixture to keep pressure on Celtic, but instead fell to third place with just four games remaining. The home crowd was stunned into silence as Motherwell took control early.

Lukas Fadinger opened the scoring with a stunning early strike that silenced the Ibrox crowd, before Emmanuel Longelo doubled the visitors' advantage at the back post before the half-hour mark. Röhl responded by changing formation at half-time from a 4-2-2-2 to his preferred 4-3-3, and the tactical switch almost paid off immediately.

Youssef Chermiti pulled one back in the 51st minute before the striker and Nicolas Raskin combined to level matters in the 70th minute, sending Ibrox into raptures. But in the final minute of normal time, Longelo's drive deflected off defender Emmanuel Fernandez to hand Motherwell their first league win in six. Rangers remain on 69 points while the Steelmen move into fourth chasing European football.
