Rangers' Röhl named Scottish Premiership manager of the month

Ibrox boss Danny Röhl has been crowned Scottish Premiership manager of the month for January after steering Rangers to four wins from four in the league. The Ibrox side secured a dramatic 3-1 victory over Glasgow rivals Celtic, followed by consecutive 2-0 wins at home against Aberdeen and away at Pittodrie. A final 3-0 win over Dundee capped a perfect month, with Rangers scoring 10 goals and conceding just one. This impressive run significantly narrows the gap to league leaders Hearts, who hold a game in hand, while Rangers now sit three points clear of Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Röhl's turnaround has been remarkable. Appointed four months ago when Rangers were 13 points behind Hearts and languishing in sixth, the German coach has transformed their form. The January success puts Rangers on the brink of the title race. Their next challenge is a crucial trip to high-flying Motherwell, who have not conceded at home in nine games. Röhl acknowledges the difficulty but remains focused: 'It would be massive (to go top of the table) but still then, the season is long enough. You have to be humble, you have to be ambitious.'

Rangers travel to Fir Park on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports, seeking another win to solidify their position. Should they also beat Hearts on Sunday, they could top the table, though Röhl stresses the long season ahead and the tough challenge posed by Motherwell's strong home form.
