Emma Raducanu is set to return to competitive tennis at the Qatar Open in Doha, just two days after falling to Sorana Cirstea in the Transylvania Open final. The British No 1 will face qualifier Camila Osorio in the first round on Monday, with play scheduled for 10:30am on Grandstand 2. Raducanu leads their head-to-head 2-0 and is projected to face tougher opponents including Gauff, Samsonova, and potentially Swiatek as the tournament progresses.

Raducanu's loss to Cirstea came in straight sets 6-0 6-2, with the 23-year-old visibly fatigued after her marathon semi-final victory against Oleksandra Oliynykova. The defeat denied her a chance to claim her first title since her 2021 US Open triumph. Her current ranking has improved to No 25 following her strong performance in Transylvania, though she remains far from her career-high position of No 10 achieved in July 2022.

The upcoming tournament marks another chapter in Raducanu's turbulent coaching journey, as she recently split with Francisco Roig after less than six months together. This separation makes Roig her tenth coach in five years, following a pattern of frequent changes since her breakthrough at Wimbledon 2021. Her 2026 season began with mixed results, including a second-round exit at the Australian Open and a quarter-final run in Hobart.

Quick Fact: Raducanu's career-high WTA ranking was No 10, achieved in July 2022.
