FIFA has issued Leandro Paredes a 10-game suspension for violent conduct during the World Cup final against Spain, where he grabbed Eric Garcia by the throat and pushed Gavi to the ground. Nahuel Molina received a seven-game ban for attempting to knock over Rodri, while Thiago Almada and Gavi each got one-match suspensions. Argentina coach Roberto Ayala was also suspended for one game after trying to punch Dani Olmo.

The disciplinary actions stem from Argentina's 1-0 extra-time loss to Spain in the final, which followed heavy challenges and Enzo Fernandez's red card. Prior to the final, Argentina was fined £235,647 ($321,000) for displaying a 'Las Malvinas son Argentinas' banner after their semi-final victory over England, violating FIFA's ban on political messaging.

Argentina must spend $100,000 on anti-discrimination campaigns, with another $100,000 of their fine suspended. They are also required to play their next two home matches with spectators reduced to 50% capacity. Despite winning $34 million in prize money, the team faces significant consequences for their actions during the tournament.
