Luke Donald has named Padraig Harrington as his third vice‑captain for the 2027 Ryder Cup, which will be played at Adare Manor in Ireland in September next year.

Harrington joins the Molinari brothers, Edoardo and Francesco, in Donald's backroom team as Team Europe seeks a third consecutive Ryder Cup victory following wins at Marco Simone in 2023 and Bethpage Black in 2025. The three‑time major champion, one of Ireland's most decorated sporting heroes, played in all six Ryder Cups held in his home country.

He expressed delight at wearing the European logo again, especially in Ireland, and praised the expected fan support and atmosphere. "I think it will be a spectacular occasion," he said.

Donald praised Harrington's wealth of experience and unsubtle Irish connection, noting that his presence will bring added energy and help rally the fans behind the team.
