Newcastle United are considering sacking manager Eddie Howe after a poor run of form, with Jose Mourinho emerging as a surprise candidate to take over at St James' Park, according to TalkSPORT. The Portuguese manager, who has previously led Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham in the Premier League, would represent a dramatic appointment by the club's Saudi owners. Benfica's Roberto Mancini and Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola are also options if Howe departs.

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi on a free transfer this summer, reports iNews. The 28-year-old Argentine centre-back is out of contract at Dean Court and is set to become one of the most sought-after defenders in the market. The Reds view Senesi as a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, with the player having started 31 of 32 Premier League matches this season. Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona have also been linked.

Chelsea are targeting Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as a potential replacement for Enzo Fernández, with The Independent reporting the Blues will accelerate their interest in the 22-year-old in summer. Securing his signature would require an offer well over £50 million. Meanwhile, Barcelona are closing in on Palmeiras forward Eduardo Conceicao, with the 16-year-old's release clause set at €100 million but the Brazilian club prepared to accept €50 million.

Manchester City are monitoring Feyenoord right back Givairo Read, with the 19-year-old also on Bayern Munich's radar. Newcastle are set to return with a €50 million move for Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande, while Arsenal and Chelsea are watching Como defender Jacobo Ramon.
