Moore Backs Prenga to Upset Joshua Like Ruiz

Kristian Prenga has been backed to upset Anthony Joshua "like [Andy] Ruiz did" by sparring partner Brandon Moore ahead of their Saturday fight in Saudi Arabia. Joshua's first professional defeat came against Andy Ruiz in 2019 at Madison Square Garden, costing him his IBF, WBA and WBO titles.

Though Joshua — fighting Prenga (20-1-0, 20 KOs) as a warm-up for his highly anticipated bout against Tyson Fury this winter — is heavily favored, Moore believes the British heavyweight could suffer a similar shock in Jeddah. "[Prenga] looks really, really, really good in sparring right now... I think he has a pretty good shot of beating him, and I think he's bigger than Joshua," Moore told Sky Sports.

Moore cites Joshua's ring rust after time away: "This is AJ's first fight back... when you're getting back into the ring, you haven't fought in a while, that ring rust is real." He emphasized Prenga's opportunity: "He has the opportunity of a lifetime... to be in the names of people that have beaten future Hall of Famers."
