Man City Target Elliot Anderson Over Enzo Fernandez in Summer Rebuild

Manchester City have made Elliot Anderson their primary summer target while confirming no interest in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez, despite the Blues slapping a £100m valuation on the Argentine midfielder. Sky Sports News understands that reports linking City with Fernandez are wide of the mark, with the Premier League champions focusing their attention elsewhere.

Fernandez remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2032 and joined Chelsea from Benfica for €121m in January 2023. The midfielder's position became complicated in April when he was dropped for two matches after admitting he would welcome living in Madrid, later apologising alongside his agent. Real Madrid have identified him as a key target for their own midfield rebuild.

City's managerial search continues with Enzo Maresca, who left Chelsea in January, still negotiating his appointment. Talks centre on contract length, backroom staff appointments, and compensation issues given Maresca's remaining deal at Chelsea. The club confirmed departures of Pep Ljinders and Kolo Toure among others.

Other targets include RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Bournemouth's Eli Junior Kroupi, though City already possess depth with Savinho, Jeremy Doku and Omar Marmoush supporting Erling Haaland. Right-back Givairo Read is also under consideration as the club prepares for life after Pep Guardiola's departure.
