Luke Littler has described his World Matchplay victory as "one of the best weeks of my life" after defeating Gerwyn Price 18-9 in Blackpool. This triumph saw Littler break multiple records, including a tournament scoring average of 111.53, surpassing Phil Taylor's 2010 record. He also set a new mark for most 180s in the tournament with 66.

Littler's dominant performance extended his streak of winning every PDC major in 2026. He also surpassed the £3 million career earnings milestone during the event. The 19-year-old expressed his satisfaction with his darts, stating he played "some of the best darts of my life" under the pressure of the main stage.

Following his win, Littler confirmed he will be heading to the Pro Tour events in Leicester instead of a planned trip to Spain. This is in pursuit of a clean sweep of all ranked majors in a calendar year, which includes defending his Players Championship Finals title. His next major tournament is the Boyle Sports World Grand Prix starting September 28.
