Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), are reportedly in discussions with a consortium led by entrepreneur Amit Bhatia regarding the sale of a minority stake in the club. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, the world's third-richest person, has been approached to join this investment syndicate.

Bhatia, a British Indian entrepreneur with an investment banking background, manages Ay Be Capital and is married to Vanisha Mittal Bhatia, daughter of billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. Bezos, who founded Amazon, also has interests in aerospace with Blue Origin and owns The Washington Post. Forbes estimates Bezos's fortune at approximately $245 billion.

While Bhatia's personal net worth is unclear, his father-in-law, Lakshmi Mittal, is valued at an estimated £23.2 billion. Bhatia has prior experience in football ownership, having been a director and co-owner of QPR. He also has investments in the golf league TGL and media brand Switch Hitter. Bezos is a noted American Football fan and has previously explored bids for NFL teams.

FSG, who purchased Liverpool in 2010 for £300 million, are reportedly open to new investment, having previously sold a small stake to Dynasty Equity. The exact percentage of the stake being considered for sale is unconfirmed, but reports suggest it could be up to 30%. Liverpool is currently valued by Forbes at £4.7 billion, making it the fourth most valuable club globally.
