Leeds United maintained their unbeaten start with a 4-1 win over Newcastle. Both sides had five points, but Matthias Jaissle suffered his first defeat as Newcastle boss.

Without Anthony Elanga, Newcastle struggled against Leeds' press, led by Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Leeds' first came when Ao Tanaka's shot deflected off Lewis Miley past Lukas Hornicek. Calvert-Lewin then thought he scored, but replays showed Jayden Bogle got the final touch. He soon got his goal, slotting home a third before half-time.

Noah Okafor added a fourth with a weak-foot volley. Bazoumana Toure grabbed a late consolation. Leeds sit third after four games, their highest position at this stage since 2000/01.
