Joshua vs Fury: UK leads venue race amid global options

Promoter Eddie Hearn says a British arena leads the hunt to host the Anthony Joshua‑Tyson Fury showdown. Both fighters have signed a deal for a 2024 clash, reviving a rivalry that stretches back decades. Hearn notes a UK venue would guarantee a packed house and a financial boost, but the final location remains open.

Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh foots the bill, meaning the venue must make commercial sense. Hearn points to Wembley, Cardiff’s retractable‑roof Principality Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur’s arena as viable UK sites, but concedes America or Saudi Arabia could win the bid. He notes the fight is slated for November, aligning with both camps’ preparation schedules. The promoter believes the UK crowd’s passion adds value.

Joshua will tune up in Riyadh against Kristian Prenga on July 25, while Fury is expected to fight in early August. Hearn warns Prenga’s 20‑knockout record makes him a dangerous opponent, though not elite. Both sides are also negotiating broadcast rights and securing lucrative sponsorship deals for the event. The November blockbuster now appears set for a British venue.
