James Anderson is set to continue his playing career in Italy, captaining and co-owning the Napoli Knights in the new Italia T10 league. The 44-year-old, recently released by Lancashire after 25 years, extends his career in the 10-over format. The league runs over 12 days at the Roma Cricket Ground from November 18, featuring stars like Chris Gayle and Dawid Malan alongside Italian national players.
Created by Nadeem Shahid and Aamir Akhtar, the tournament aims to boost cricket's profile in Italy, especially with its Olympic debut approaching. Anderson's company, Activate Sport & Leisure, will run coaching clinics alongside the event, supporting grassroots development ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. 'We want Napoli Knights to be competitive, but also contribute to something that grows beyond the tournament,' Anderson said.
