Russell Henley birdied the final three holes to force a playoff with Eric Cole, then made it four straight birdies with a five-footer on the first extra hole to win the Charles Schwab Classic. The victory denied Cole his first PGA Tour title in his 120th start and earned Henley $1.78 million for his sixth tour victory.

Henley's late charge came after a rollercoaster front nine that included three consecutive bogeys. Meanwhile, Cole maintained his lead despite a double bogey on the ninth. Both players finished at 12 under, one stroke ahead of Ben Griffin, who nearly joined Ben Hogan as the only players to win consecutive tournaments at Colonial.

Henley received the traditional plaid jacket and a custom 1982 Jeep Scrambler for his victory. The win provides a significant confidence boost as the PGA Tour heads to the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village. Griffin's strong finish keeps him in the conversation defending his title from last year.
