Harry Brook has addressed whether the Wellington incident cost him the England captaincy. Following an incident where he was struck by a bouncer after being refused entry to a club, Brook was issued a final warning and fined approximately £30,000. While some attribute his lack of Test captaincy to this event, Brook stated he does not see it that way.

Instead, Brook believes the decision to appoint Joe Root as the Test captain was the "right one." Having served as the white-ball captain and Test vice-captain, Brook has embraced the responsibility of leading the white-ball side and expressed full support for Root's leadership.

Brook also discussed his batting approach, noting his efforts to better assess conditions and avoid frustrating shots. He emphasized that being a captain requires responsibility both on and off the field, a lesson learned during his recent challenges. He remains focused on performing and winning games alongside the Test squad.
