Lewis Hamilton believes his Ferrari is in a better place after subtle adjustments heading into Dutch Grand Prix qualifying. Despite starting fifth alongside Charles Leclerc, the team remains optimistic for Sunday’s race.

Hamilton noted that practice pace was consistent, but midweek setup changes severely hurt the Sprint session. "I was learning a new car again, a new balance which I'm much happier with," he explained. Though all Mercedes-powered cars qualified ahead due to a known power deficit, Hamilton stressed that Ferrari’s race pace should be superior. Lando Norris starts on pole position, with both Mercedes and McLaren cars ahead.

The Sprint confirmed Ferrari’s potential, as George Russell took victory. Hamilton acknowledged that fifth isn’t ideal but emphasized the car’s improved balance and strategic opportunities. "Hopefully with the right strategy and right execution I think hopefully we can challenge the cars ahead," he said. With the SF-26 showing competitive long-run speed around Zandvoort’s twisty layout, Ferrari targets a strong charge toward the front.
