Everton signed winger Brennan Johnson from Crystal Palace in a transfer swap deal that sees Dwight McNeil move to Selhurst Park. Both players signed four‑year contracts. Johnson, 25, joined Palace in January for £35m but only featured 26 times without scoring, while McNeil, 26, had 15 goals and 18 assists in 130 appearances for Everton and nearly completed a deadline‑day move to Palace.

Johnson becomes David Moyes' fifth summer signing after activating Merlin Rohl's loan and adding Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Christian Norgaard. He praised Moyes' belief and pledged speed, goals and a team‑first attitude. Palace's summer intake includes defenders Oscar Mingueza and Takehiro Tomiyasu, plus McNeil, while they sold Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea for £51m.

Everton also brought in Hayden Hackney for £24m, Tyrique George for £24m and Merlin Rohl for £19m, reshaping both squads ahead of the Premier League season.
